Total Compliance Training
Total Compliance Training is the one-day course that fulfills the mandatory training requirements for DOT, OSHA, and RCRA.
Who should attend?
Total Compliance Training is designed for any employee exposed to hazardous substances, including hazardous waste, or who ships and/or receives hazardous materials. These employees may be subject to the mandatory requirements set forth by the Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA), the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) Resource Conservation and Recovery Act (RCRA), and the U. S. Department of Transportation (DOT).
Employees who have previously received these regulatory certifications and/or employees with certifications about to expire should also attend Total Compliance Training. Proper training and retraining helps to minimize accidents and reduce the risk of fines.

What topics are covered?
Total Compliance Training is unique because it covers the mandatory requirements for OSHA, RCRA, and the DOT in one course. This comprehensive course teaches your employees how to perform their jobs in a safe and compliant manner and fulfills the following regulatory requirements:
- DOT Hazardous Materials Training (DOT 49 CFR 172.704)
This topic covers safety training for HAZMAT employees including emergency response information, HAZMAT protection methods (including specific measures the HAZMAT employer has implemented to protect employees from exposures), and methods and procedures for avoiding accidents. - 8-hour HAZWOPER Training (OSHA 29 CFR 1910.120): This topic covers the 8-hour annual refresher which is designed to train employees involved in hazardous waste operations, critique incidents that have occurred in the past, and review other relevant topics.
- Hazard Communication Training (OSHA 29 CFR 1910.1200): This topic covers hazard evaluation, determination, and communication including development of a Hazard Communication Program, container labeling and other forms of warning, material safety data sheets, and employee training.
- Hazardous Waste Generator Training (EPA 40 CFR 265.16): This topic covers defining hazardous waste according to EPA regulations including: hazard identification, handling, and required RCRA hazardous waste generator training.
Where is training?
Total Compliance Training classes are held at the Elk Training Center at 1420 Clarion Street in Reading, Pennsylvania.
Group Total Compliance Training can be held at the Elk Training Center or at your facility anywhere in the country!
When is training?
Total Compliance Training at the Elk Training Center is held monthly on a Friday. Training is conducted from 8:00 a.m. until 5:00 p.m. with a morning, afternoon, and lunch break. Enrollment for scheduled training dates is on a first-come, first-served basis.
Group Total Compliance Training can be scheduled at your convenience. Training is typically conducted from 8:00 a.m. until 5:00 p.m. with a morning, afternoon, and lunch break. However, Elk will work with you to schedule a date and time that is convenient for you and your employees. Group Trainings are scheduled on a first-come, first-served basis.
How much does training cost?
Total Compliance Training at the Elk Training Center is $215 per person and includes course materials, certificate of completion with wallet card, refreshments, and lunch.
Group Total Compliance Training at the Elk Training Center is $1,200, plus $30 per person for course materials. Training includes course materials, certificate of completion with wallet card, refreshments, and lunch. The Elk Training Center can accommodate groups of up to 15 people.
Group Total Compliance Training at your facility is $1,200*, plus $30 per person for course materials. Training includes course materials and certificate of completion with wallet card.
*Travel, lodging, and per diem expenses will be charged for any facility outside of a 75 mile radius of Elk's office in Reading, Pennsylvania, or where overnight stays are required.
